Thin Glass Dance is rooted in the sensation of dancing on thin glass, where risk is constant, pressure accumulates, and rupture is always possible. Our aesthetic draws from everyday experience, shaping fragments of lived life into socially pointed, high-affect works of physical theater. Founded in 2024, Thin Glass Dance has developed a distinct aesthetic that resists prettiness and spectacle in favor of authentic emotion. Our work asks what happens when bodies are held inside systems, whether formal, social, or bureaucratic, and how movement can expose the stress points where those systems begin to fail. Beyond performance, Thin Glass Dance is committed to international collaboration, community engagement, and curatorial projects that support experimental dance and foster artistic exchange in upstate New York.
